Hello
My name is Alexis Ratliff. Owner and creator of Farmgirl Creations. I have been raising dairy goats and making soap for 16 years. Alongside soap making. I enjoy art, reading, gardening, my horses, camping and hunting. Anything outdoors. My husband and I were married August 2024 and live on a farm in Carter, Montana. We have our growing dairy goats herd, as well as three dogs, a cat and 5 horses. One day we hope to own our own land and start a commercial meat goat herd to add to the chaos.
My Story
I was born and raised on a third generation dairy farm in western New York. Taught at a very young age to be good stewards over the land and animals that God had entrusted in our care. The love of dairy always stuck with me, later on after our family made the decision to sell out of the cows and move in the direction of crops, beef and market hogs. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease at the age of 14 and after much research I discovered the benefits dairy goats would bring. The summer of 2013 my first pair of Alpine bottle babies came into my life. By 2015 they had matured to be bred and mother's and I was in full swing of milk supply. My Uncle has a huge goat dairy in Indiana and many of my goats through the years have come from his farm. My Aunt taught me a basic goat milk soap recipe that summer on one of their visits back to the family farm. I was instantly hooked and she told me to be creative, bold and make it my own. She has been my biggest inspiration in this soap venture as we encourage and root one another's growing businesses on. From there I took my products to local vendor events and markets. In 2018, my family made the decision to sell the farm and move to Montana. I sold all my goats but my 5 best milking nannies, one breeding buck and the 8 little doelings from that years kid crop. What an adventure that trip was! Milking both ends of the two day trip at a truck stop with a trailer full of goats and horses.
My family made our home in the small farming community of Dutton, Montana. It has become home and a place where each of my siblings and I have found our spouses and creating our own families and lives. My husband and I live in Carter, Montana. On the farm and ranch he works for. Here I am now, having raised dairy goats and made soap for 16 years now. Slowly building a clientele and looking to expand my brand. I strive for quality over quantity in my products and focus on small batch goat milk soap. Made with only the purest raw oils, herbs grown in my garden and natural plant and fruit infused fragrances that are dermatologist tested and safe for all skin tyoes. Blend together with fresh goats milk straight from our herd, hand milked twice a day.
